Art in Mind is a vibrant and eclectic exhibition showcasing the work of eight multidisciplinary artists, each with a unique voice and style. The exhibition will work through a range of mediums, from painting and printmaking to mixed media and digital art.
Art in Mind celebrates both individual expression and the power of art as a collective experience, offering something for everyone—from bold, abstract compositions to intricate, narrative-driven pieces. Step into this inspiring display and experience the wide-ranging creativity these artists bring to their work.

James Gemmill

A word from the artist:
“A painting can enhance our sense of the world around us; it can change the way we think about ourselves; it can even change the way in which we regard other people. If a painting creates, evokes, or calls back an emotion, be it positive or negative, it has done its job. The worst reaction to any art form is indifference to it.”

Barbie Longfox

Barbie Longfox is a Bristol-based painter, illustrator, tattooer and muralist. With a self-taught background across all her artistic mediums – except for tattooing – Barbie has developed a unique style that reflects her creative vision and personal experiences.
Her work often features her playful cat-eared ‘cutie’ character that she uses as a figure with which to portray themes of femininity, identity and emotional expression.
Through her art, Barbie captures the complexities of the female experience, inviting viewers to connect with the character’s various states of mind and emotional landscapes.

Matteo Sarro

Matteo Sarro’s work reflects on the way materials come to life through the transformation of rock into a plastic image, embodying the otherness of the self. His use of expanded foams mixed with flour blurs the lines between the artificial and the natural, as well as between the present and memory. His art seeks to animate static objects, liberating their meaning from mere appearances.
A Word from the Artist:
‘My art is linked to memory. What i Have always wanted to convey with my painting is: Purity, Lightness and Transparency. When you look at one of my paintings, I want you to be at ease and free to think what you want. It will be your thought that will give rise to my new production.’

Katya Crane

Katya Crane discovered her passion for drawing at a young age, ultimately earning a degree in Graphic Design from Dawson College in Montreal, Canada.
After relocating to London, she transitioned into a role as a project manager, specialising in marketing, digital learning, and higher education. About ten years ago, Katya began to feel a longing for creativity in her daily routine. This prompted her to start doodling regularly, a practice that reignited her artistic passion.
A Word from the Artist:
‘I see my illustrations as dances on a page, with squiggly lines and coloured shapes that don’t always align, a reminiscence of the childhood inability (and lack of desire) to colour within the lines. I often illustrate things and places that I like and create uplifting characters.’

Miriam Vanessa Gagino

Miriam is an actress and multidisciplinary artist born in Italy. She studied at Santa Monica College and is currently featured in a new drama, ‘Petra’, which airs on national television in Italy.
In this exhibition, the artist reimagines her 29 dates, candidly sharing her past struggles with depression and sexuality while discussing her body count.
Through the interactive iPad interface, visitors are invited to engage in a modern swiping experience, making choices about whether to ‘date’ her based on her honest revelations.
A word from the artist:
‘I always strive to embrace vulnerability and rawness in my work… My art explores the intricate journey of women seeking fulfilment and happiness through relationships, while grappling with the pressure of hyper-feminism… Topics like depression, sexuality, and body count are still relevant and can deter potential partners. However, I still choose to celebrate my past and the figures that have shaped me – recognising that they are more than just shadows.’

Wona Wena

Vendula Veselá is a painter and draughtswoman from Prague whose figural scenes draw on the anonymous style of street art and comic imagery. She finds inspiration in pop art, particularly in its clarity and repetition, though she subverts these elements to critique consumerism rather than celebrate it.
Her background in fashion design has deepened her understanding of the human figure, which she uses to explore themes of relationships and ethics.
Through her work, she addresses the often unachievable expectations placed on women, expressing these ideas in surreal and improbable contexts.

Elena Fazzino & Garden Party Magazine

Elena Fazzino is the creator of ‘Garden Party’, a photographic magazine that celebrates the mundanity found in everyday life.
Growing up in and around London, she was drawn to the city’s street culture, and her work reflects this. Raw, dynamic and familiar. Her painting ‘City, 2020’ embodies the same gritty charm, marked with the imperfections that characterise London.
Elena also draws inspiration from her Italian heritage, particularly the way Italians embrace life’s moments with passion and simplicity – from the ritual of a slow morning espresso to the art of a leisurely meal shared with loved ones.
These influences combine in ‘Garden Party’, capturing scenes that reveal the soft undercurrent of everyday life.

J. Brimble, Touch Of Texture

Jitka Brimble is a British artist born in the Czech Republic and based in Buckinghamshire UK. Inspired by the creative forms found in nature, she crafts biomorphic sculptures and textured artworks that blur the line between abstraction and figuration.
Deeply mindful of the climate crisis, Jitka hand-makes each piece, incorporating as many recycled materials as possible. Her work embodies a harmonious blend of creativity and sustainability, highlighting the potential beauty in discarded materials.
