Landscape art usually depicts a wide view with natural or manmade elements arranged into a coherent formation. Many artists paint their landscapes ‘en plein air’, capturing the mood and essence of the scenery. This is not to say that the landscape art cannot be imagined; landscape artwork can be anything from the work of John Constable’s traditional countryside paintings to Salvador Dali’s dripping clocks in a desolate horizon.
