Shona Masters (from UK) creates work, which is about mark making in paint and texture, with a robust freneticism in the use of colour and movement. The aim is to incite the viewer to make new associations with colour, form and the fluidity of expression while being taken into and around the image. She has photographed images, manipulated the colours and created a painting. Then she might re photograph the painting, tweak or invert the colours, crop sections or change the viewing aspect and do another painting. It is a malleable process that takes the image to where it wants to be in any one painting.
